Saturday January 10th: Cross-country Skiing and Snowshoeing at Gai-Luron
A good place to start the new season at the foot of the Laurentians and not far from Montreal. There is a network of easy to intermediate ski trails as well as easy snowshoe trails. Rental of ski equipment and snowshoes available.

Saturday January 24th: Cross-country Skiing and Snowshoeing at Far Hills, Parc regional Val-David-Val-Morin
Easy and intermediate skiing at this popular and scenic center. Far Hills has a large network of ski and snowshoe trails. Snowshoes, skis etc can be rented. Meeting at the Chalet d'Accueil.

Saturday February 7th: Cross-country Skiing and Snowshoeing at Mont St. Bruno
Easy and intermediate skiing at this popular south shore nature park - also snowshoeing or crampon trails.

Saturday February 21st: Cross-country Skiing and Snowshoeing at Domaine Vert, Mirabel
A new destination to explore – easy skiing or snowshoeing on groomed trails at this center close to Montreal. $18 reg/$14.75 seniors. Rental of ski equipment and snowshoes available.
The center is at No. 10423 Mont Sainte-Marianne.

Saturday March 7th: Cross-country Skiing and Snowshoeing at Parc Oka
Perhaps spring skiing at this SEPAQ park? Easy, fairly easy with some intermediate and advanced skiing. The same for cramponing/snowshoeing. Park entrance fee can be purchased online or at the gate for those without an annual SEPAQ pass.

Saturday March 21st: Snowshoeing at Val David sector of Parc regional Val-David-Val-Morin (Chalet Anne Piché)
Intermediate snowshoeing (or walking with crampons) on a lovely trail past a series of huge erratics and beautiful icefalls up to the Belvedere at the summit of Mont Condor and other trails.

Saturday May 2nd: Le Nichoir Open House, Hudson
The only time one can visit this longstanding bird rehabilitation center is during their once-a-year Open House so this is our chance to see their facilities and learn what they do there caring for injured birds. After spending the morning at the center, we’ll have a picnic lunch & then a walk at a nearby conservation area in the afternoon. Bring lunch, water, camera, binoculars (it’s bird migration time).
Meet at the center at 10 a.m at Le Nichoir at 637 Rue Main.

Saturday May 9th: Spring Flower Walk and Birdwatching at Bois de Liesse Nature Park
The spring flowers should be at their peak at this time, and this is the best place to see them in the city. Birds are returning from their migrations, so bring your binoculars. Meet at the Chalet d'Accueil des Champs sector, reached by car from the Henri-Bourassa side. Parking available on the street (free), or in the parking lot ($).

Saturday May 23rd: Refuge Faunique d`Youville, Ile St-Bernard
An easy, pleasant walk on this beautiful island located in the St. Lawrence River near Chateauguay. Meet at the Visitor Centre where there is a very nice café. There is an entry fee. (Discount for BPQ members)

short AGM followed by convivial dining.

Saturday June 6th: Ecomuseum, Ste. Anne de Bellevue
A visit to this special zoo featuring mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish species from Québec. Each living space is a faithful replication of the animal’s natural environment. We’ll especially want to see the new otters that have been installed, as well as the bobcat (new species for the center). A comfortable picnic area is available near the parking lot.

Saturday June 20th: Centre d’Interprétation de la Nature du Lac Boivin (CINLB)
Easy walking trails in this beautiful nature park on the shores of Lac Boivin near Granby. Good for spring flowers and birding so don’t forget your binoculars.
The nature center’s parking lot is at 700 Drummond (sign says CINLB). Meet at the Centre d’Accueil.
